Three Stories from Steve Jobs
Watch Steve Jobs address Stanford graduates a few years ago…
Connecting the Dots – you can’t connect the dots looking forward; you can only connect them looking backwards. So you have to trust that the dots will somehow connect in your future. You have to trust in something — your gut, destiny, life, karma, whatever. This approach has never let me down, and it has made all the difference in my life.
Love – You’ve got to find what you love. And that is as true for your work as it is for your lovers. Your work is going to fill a large part of your life, and the only way to be truly satisfied is to do what you believe is great work. And the only way to do great work is to love what you do. If you haven’t found it yet, keep looking. Don’t settle. As with all matters of the heart, you’ll know when you find it. And, like any great relationship, it just gets better and better as the years roll on.
Death – is very likely the single best invention of Life. It is Life’s change agent. Your time is limited, so don’t waste it living someone else’s life. Don’t be trapped by dogma — which is living with the results of other people’s thinking. Don’t let the noise of others’ opinions drown out your own inner voice. And most important, have the courage to follow your heart and intuition. They somehow already know what you truly want to become. Everything else is secondary.
“No one wants to die. Even people who want to go to heaven don’t want to die to get there. And yet death is the destination we all share. No one has ever escaped it. And that is as it should be, because Death is very likely the single best invention of Life. It is Life’s change agent. It clears out the old to make way for the new. Right now the new is you, but someday not too long from now, you will gradually become the old and be cleared away. Sorry to be so dramatic, but it is quite true.
“Your time is limited, so don’t waste it living someone else’s life. Don’t be trapped by dogma – which is living with the results of other people’s thinking. Don’t let the noise of others’ opinions drown out your own inner voice. And most important, have the courage to follow your heart and intuition. They somehow already know what you truly want to become. Everything else is secondary.” - Steve Jobs
”Remembering that you are going to die is the best way I know to avoid the trap of thinking you have something to lose.” – Steve Jobs

iSad – Apple Founder Steve Jobs Passed Away at 56
October 6, 2011 - The homepage of Apple’s web site this evening switched to a full-page image of Jobs with the text, “Steve Jobs 1955-2011.”
Clicking on the image opens another one with text: “Apple has lost a visionary and creative genius, and the world has lost an amazing human being. Those of us who have been fortunate enough to know and work with Steve have lost a dear friend and an inspiring mentor. Steve leaves behind a company that only he could have built, and his spirit will forever be the foundation of Apple.”
Steve Jobs 1955-2011
I often tell people how “in love” i am with Apple’s iPhone. In fact, it is one of the best purchases, if not the best, in my entire life. ![]()
Because it opened doors, it broke boundaries, it crossed lines, it brought the mobile phone experience to a whole new level.
iPhone is a result of an out-of-the-box thinking; it is an innovation; and it scared the hell out of its competitors. It got the developers and design teams of Samsung, Nokia, HTC, Blackberry, etc. to think and re-think how to possibly keep up.
iPhone is an innovation; and so are Apple’s all other products. Steve Jobs is an innovator, a game changer, an inspiration.
Steve Jobs, may you rest in peace.
Arroyo Overspent Travel Budget
If you’re curious how much the former president Gloria Arroyo overspent her travel budget… well, the number is 3. She splurged big time because she spent thrice of travel fund in her last year as a president.
ormer president and now Pampanga Representative Gloria Macapagal-Arroyo has millions of unliquidated travel expenses and even spent thrice the approved budget allocation in her last year in office, a Senator said.
Commission on Audit reports that the then Office of the President, whose 2009 allocation for travel expenses was at P244.6 million, has an “actual disbursement” for traveling of 940.6 million.
P848.1 million was spent for foreign trips while at least P92.5 million was used for local travels.
Not only that, Commission on Audit said that P594 million has remained unliquidated as of year end, including the unliquidated travel expenses… Grrr!!!
Well, this doesn’t come as a surprise anymore because her 2009 splurge-y dinner at Le Cirque Restaurant in New York is still vivid to me = $20,000.
Googling will yield Winni Monsod’s blog entry last August 2009, wherein she claimed that Arroyo has left the country 72 times since she assumed the presidency in 2001.
iPhone 5 Release Next Month?
According to a technology blog AllThingsD, Apple plans to unveil their next generation iPhone model, whether it be iPhone 5 or iPhone 4S, on October 4. However, the blog was quick to caution that Apple might still change their plan anytime.
Apple’s new chief executive Tim Cook will definitely be the one to preside the launch of the new iPhone if ever the plans push through. Jobs has presided over Apple’s previous product launches in the past and AllThingsD said that “the pressure will be on Cook to turn in a good performance.”
Hmmm…excited much? Actually, I’m kinda contemplating whether i should get a new iPhone or wait until the 6th gen… Especially because it’s so hard to transfer data from one phone to another. ![]()

Floyd Mayweather Jr. vs. Victor Ortiz – Round 4 Controversial Knockout
Floyd Mayweather Jr. beat Victor Ortiz on Saturday, September 17, 2011, via a controversial knockout on Round 4 at the MGM Grand Garden Arena in Las Vegas, Nevada.
Mayweather Jr., 34, with a 41-0 record and 25 knockouts vs. Ortiz, 24, who stands 5’9″ and the current WBC Welterweight Champion and has a record of 29-2-2 with 22 knockouts.
Watched the entire fight with own eyes…
hated every second of it at first because Ortiz kept dancing around the ring, and kept failing despite numerous attempts to score a decent and spot on punch on Mayweather’s face.
The real fight started at the latter part of round 3, when Ortiz finally managed to throw multiple jab at Mayweather’s face, and to my surprise, a head butt too!
Although Ortiz kept on apologizing right after, Floyd took that seriously.
When round four strikes, Ortiz tried to apologize again by giving Mayweather a hug but was caught by surprise when Floyd gave him a short left followed by a strong right jab and knocked him out. Boo! Boo! and another strong Boo! ![]()
It really pays to play dirty these days… too bad…let’s all shout “injustice prevails!”
Oh and by the way, during the post-fight ring interview, Floyd Mayweather launched into a furious tirade at legendary television analyst Larry Merchant prompting the 80-year-old broadcaster to say, “I wish I was 50 years younger. I would have kicked your ass.”
LOL, this is simply hilarious! wahaha
