The BPI Big Outlet Sale
What: BPI Big Outlet Sale
Where: The Megatent, Meralco Ave., Ortigas, Pasig
When: October 16 – 18, 2009 @ 10am – 9pm
I Thought I Could
I told myself that I will no longer go to this month’s SnR sale because really, we don’t need to buy anything, we’re okay with what we have right now. Besides, I don’t want to shop nonsense while my fellow Filipinos are suffering from hunger.
On the first day of sale, I was very successful at not thinking about the sale until I bumped into my x-officemate.
Me: O, san ka galing? (where did you come from?)
Inggo: Dyan lang sa SnR (from SnR)
Me: errr, madaming tao? (are there lots of people?)
Inggo: Yup!
Me: ahh… sige pasok nako (ahh, ok I’ll go ahead)
On my way to the office, I was already mentally listing the stuffs that I need to buy the next day while trying to compose a good message for my husband so that he’d come with me. The thing is, I’ve already told him that we are no longer going to the sale argghhh! I guess I underestimated my urge to shop, tsk!
… and so I succeeded and we got up at 7am the next day to make sure that we arrive there a little past 8am, which is the store opening =D
And I just have to mention this before I tell you what we bought: the fog lamps and park lights of the car parked beside us was left on, hb and I really thinks that she forgot about her lights due to extreme excitement to shop. lol!
Once inside, we saw our emcee Jerome Go and we are so glad that to know that he is now a doctor and that he is starting to rebuild their house =)
We spent around an hour shopping and look what we got:
Tadaaaaa Corelle set for less than 2,000 PHP

Fat Santa for less than 300 PHP

We also got some candles, Christmas gift items, Anchor baking pan set, and some more unecessary stuffs.
After the shopping, ofcourse we had to take care of our tummies so we ate Pepperoni Calzone and Combo Pizza; gosh sooooo yummy as always =)
SnR Sale!
The SnR Sale is back! Weeeee… To those who don’t know SnR, it is a shopping center that sells grocery items, and kitchen and home stuffs. For more information, please visit their site.
Anyway, SnR Sale is pure awesomeness because they give really big discounts to imported products that are usually expensive. For example, I got my steam iron there for only 4,000 PHP – that is 1,000 PHP off the original price! I bought all of our towels and bathroom rugs there for less than 500 PHP each! And the best part is, their pillow cases and bedsheets because they sell those with high thread count for very low price.
So, can’t wait to go there? The sale will happen on September 30 to October 4 from 8AM to 9PM. Word of advice – “Be early!”
By the way, don’t forget to grab a pepperoni Calzone, YUM!
U.S. Rib Eye Steak

Rib eye or ribeye is one of the popular choices in making grilled or pan fried steak dishes because of its tenderness and flavor. In fact, Wikipedia defines it as:
The rib eye or ribeye, also known as the Scotch fillet (in Australia and New Zealand), is a beef steak from the beef rib. When cut into steaks, the ribeye is one of the most popular, juicy, and expensive steaks on the market. Meat from the rib section is more tender and fattier (the meat is said to be “marbled”) than most other cuts of beef. This extra fat makes ribeye steaks and roasts especially tender and flavorsome, and well suited to dry heat cookery.
There are numerous steak houses who brag about how juicy and yummy their steaks are, but the truth is, only a handful of them is telling the truth. Actually, for hubby and I, only Steak Town in Shangrila Mall and Antonio’s in Tagaytay passed the test. The sad part here is, whether these restos serve good steak or not, all of them are very expensive – as reiterated by Wiki’s entry on steak…
…the idea of eating steak signifies relative wealth.
Anyway, the secret to preparing a good steak dish is first and foremost a good quality beef; how you season and cook the steak only follows.
For all the readers of BQ’s Kitchen, I am giving you the opportunity to serve a steak with quality that is at par with the steaks that Steak Town and Antonio’s serve.
